The DSA IRELAND Working Paper Series (WPS) aims to:

  1.  Provide a dissemination channel for new research that is directly relevant to Irish development policy and practice;
  2.  Support ongoing and open critical reflection on this research to enhance understanding of perspectives, needs and challenges of stakeholders; and
  3.  Communicate findings in a way that is accessible and relevant to the policy/practice nexus. The WPS will do this by publishing papers that have passed a peer-review process for open discussion on the DSA Ireland website.

Call for Papers

Draft papers for the Working Paper Series should be submitted electronically as MS Word documents to the DSAI coordinator Clodagh Colleran at collerac@tcd.ie with WPS Submission in the email ‘subject’ field. Please address any queries also to this email address. Papers should be double-spaced and can be up to 9,000 words.

All papers published in the series will be relevant to: the interface between development research, policy and practice in Ireland; and aim to advance the state of the art. While the scope is broad, the WPS specifically welcomes papers that:

  • Translate research into knowledge for innovation;

  • Outline a new perspective, theoretical approach or methodology;

  • Put forward an argument that will promote the renewal or deepening of development studies;

  • Critically reflect international development, approaches, challenges and opportunities.
