The Development Studies Association of Ireland (DSAI) third Annual Summer School will be held at UCC, on Wednesday 5 June and Thursday 6 June 2019.
This Summer School is being organised collaboratively by the DSAI and the UCC Centre for Global Development. The Summer School will focus on innovative ways of doing development research, which places participation and "citizen-driven" research at the centre of its practice.
Contributors include Connell Foley, Director, Strategy, Advocacy and Learning (Policy Unit) at Concern Worldwide and Stephen Cassidy, Development Education Officer at Plan International Ireland.
Participants will explore the relationship between research and action, and the role of researcher activist. It will examine methodologies of citizen empowerment and ‘doing participation’ in the context of urban and rural poverty, displacement, and globalisation.
