The Maynooth University Postgraduate Programme in Anthropology and Development in 
conjunction with the Humanitarian Action Study Group of the Development Studies Association of Ireland are pleased to announce this symposium on Saturday, 29 November, at the Anthropology Seminar Room, Rowan House, Maynooth University. The aim is to discuss the phenomenon of industrial disasters and what they reveal about the current global model. This event will mark the 30th anniversary of the world`s worst industrial disaster, the deadly gas leak at the Union Carbide plant , that took place in Bhopal, India, in December 1984.
