Call for Articles: COVID-19 and Development Education
The Centre for Global Education is calling for short articles of no more than 500 words on COVID-19 and Development Education to be published together online in a single document in our journal, Policy and Practice: A Development Education Review. Here are some questions that your article could address:
· How should development education respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of policy and / or practice?
· How has COVID-19 impacted on your practice and that of your organisation?
· If your organisation works in the global South, what are your concerns about the spread of the pandemic?
· Do you have positive experiences as a practitioner over the past few months that you would like to share?
· What do you regard as the potential impact of how COVID-19 could impact on the development education sector in the future?
Contributors should not feel bound by the formalities of footnotes or references. The Centre for Global Education are looking for short opinion pieces that speak to your experiences and viewpoints as a practitioner.
"You may also have had to quickly adapt your practice to delivery online and may be struggling to maintain delivery of your work to stakeholders during lockdown. You could be thinking about the wider implications of COVID-19 for the Irish economy and overseas development programme, and the impact of the pandemic on your partners in the global South. More positively, you may have already learned new skills for online training delivery and have found yourself re-connecting at a deeper level with colleagues and your community. Whatever have been your experiences of the pandemic we would like to hear from you."
Authors should submit their articles to stephen@centreforglobaleducation.com. The Call for Contributors is available on the Development Education website here.
