GROW (https://www.growinresearch.eu/) is a new EU-funded PhD research programme. We are a network of internationally collaborating universities from the Netherlands with longstanding collaborations with our partners at the African continent.
We have launched an international PhD programme that offers tomorrow’s leaders a unique opportunity to do high quality and novel research, related to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals on the African continent. Supervision for the PhD students will be provided by globally renowned professors, supported by societal actors and academics from our African partners. With the projects we aim to make a real contribution to understanding and addressing the urgent worldwide challenges.
The call for application is now open, till end of 31st January, 2024 (23.59 CET).
Applicants can choose to be considered by five universities in the Netherlands (https://www.growinresearch.eu/apply/#supervisorprofiles). The University of Amsterdam research group (Governance and Inclusive Development) would encourage, in particular, applicants who are interested in pursuing research that engages with the notion of justice, in areas of climate change governance and resilience, migration and mobilities, urbanism, inclusive economies, tourism and nature conservation.
