Nominations for the annual Dóchas Awards are open, with the closing date of 24 Sept coming up fast.
This year's ceremony will take place on 29 November in Blackhall Place, Dublin, and Dóchas are very excited to have Mary Robinson joining them as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award 2018.
Information on the 4 award categories can be found here. In particular, Dóchas would like to draw your attention to the Respect and Equality in Communications Award. It recognises an organisation that consistently uses empowering images and messages in their communications, that challenge stereotypes and are based on the values of respect, equality, solidarity and justice, in line with the Dóchas Code of Conduct on Images and Messages. If you would like to nominate a campaign run by your organisation or have a campaign from another Code signatory in mind, you can find all of the details and the short nomination form here.
Just to flag as well that Dóchas are running a photography competition as part of the Awards this year. People working or volunteering for Dóchas members are invited to submit a photo relevant to their work. 12 photos will be selected, displayed at the Awards ceremony and turned into a 2019 calendar.
