The Development Studies Association of Ireland’s Gender Study Group invites you to a seminar on ‘Women’s Leadership in Humanitarian Contexts’

Event Speakers:
Makena Mwobobia, Executive Director of ActionAid Kenya and ActionAid International’s Champion on its Humanitarian and Resilience Platform. Makena will focus on women’s leadership in humanitarian response.
Professor Sam Cromie, Assistant Professor in Psychology at Trinity College Dublin, will present on his work in partnership with Tearfund working with self-help groups.
Anne-Marie McCarthy, Emergency Programmes Manager, Plan international Ireland. Anne-Marie will discuss Plan International’s gendered response to humanitarian situations.
Our keynote speaker, Makena Mwobobia will be talking about ActionAid's International Feminist Humanitarian Network.
Makenna will be followed by additional speakers from both the academic and NGO sectors within Ireland, including Professor Sam Cromie from Trinity College Dublin, speaking on his work in partnership with Tearfund Ireland on the psychosocial benefits of self help groups.
