Concern Worldwide, in partnership with Irish Aid, invites you to the practitioners' conference 'CMAM 20 Years On: Going to Scale in Fragile Contexts'.
The conference marks the 20th anniversary of the Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) pilot, which represented a huge leap forward in the detection and treatment of child wasting and odema, and for child survival more broadly.
Two decades on, the fundamentals of the original model – community mobilisation, ready-to-use-therapeutic food, simple assessment and treatment protocols - remain central to its effectiveness. Yet much has been learned, as practitioners and policy makers continuously adapt the approach to local contexts.
The conference will bring health and nutrition practitioners together from across the world to exchange evidence and experiences in scaling up treatment services to reflect, share local learnings, and discuss how to scale CMAM strategies to meet the particular needs of those living in fragile contexts and vulnerable communities.
