Sr Lucy Kurien, a Catholic nun from Kerala in India, will be the keynote speaker at the seminar- a platform to enable an open public discussion on the subject in Ireland. Her organisation Maher offers abused women and children a series of refuge all over India. Recent statistics from studies in Ireland show that violence against women is endemic and rapidly-escalating here. Contributors include authors, poets, academics, and activists from both countries.
