The one-day event entitled “Protection of Civilians: Challenges for peacekeeping and humanitarian organisations” is for practitioners and researchers. It is organised by the Institute for International Conflict Resolution and Reconstruction (Dublin City University) and Kimmage Development Studies Centre. Topics include the changing mandate for Protection of Civilians (PoC), lessons from recent crises, and the constraints faced by peace support operations. Speakers include Prof Siobhán Wills, (Transitional Justice Institute, Ulster University), Prof Ray Murphy (Irish Centre for Human Rights, NUI Galway), and practitioners from the humanitarian community.
