Panel discussion - "Working in / on The Occupied Palestinian Territories: A Unique Context"

-

The Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT) are facing one of the world’s most protracted humanitarian crises, in a unique context of ongoing violence, protection and human rights issues, limited access to basic services, and challenges from a legal perspective. Across the territory, one in every two Palestinians, or roughly 2.5 million people, are in need of some form of humanitarian assistance in 2018. This panel discussion brings together humanitarian actors and researchers to discuss the unique challenges facing the population of the OPT, the specific barriers to delivering assistance, implementing development programmes, and conducting research in this context, and how to overcome these obstacles.

Speakers include: The Global Room, Watts Building (1st floor), Trinity College Dublin

  • Jennifer Higgins, Christian Aid Ireland
  • Dr Ronit Lentin, Academics for Palestine and Retired Associate Professor of Sociology, Trinity College Dublin
  • Deirdre Campbell, Trócaire
