The first in a series of learning events aiming to support and facilitate high-quality research, exchange of ideas, relationship-building and networking among the academic and practitioner community working on humanitarian action and in humanitarian contexts in Ireland.
DSA Ireland's Humanitarian Action Study Group (HAS) had plans in place for an event centred on humanitarian research networking and sharing of best practice across academia and humanitarian organisations for May 2020. Plans for an in-person workshop have of course been postponed, but we are moving some of these discussions online, and are delighted to welcome representatives from both the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Irish Research Council to our first of these events on the morning of the 13th of May.
This is a great opportunity for those involved in humanitarian research, and those in humanitarian responses with research and learning components, to deepen their understanding of the priorities and perspectives of institutional funders on strategic, effective research and partnerships in this area, and hope many members will join us.
